End Grain Chopping Boards
A Norfolk Oak End Grain Chopping board is a fabulous addition to any kitchen. Sheer elegance aside, it is an immensely practical accessory. The Walnut end grain chopping board in the photograph to the right is actually six months old and has been used continuously, not only as a chopping board but also as a trivet. A pan of boiling water is a hot enough test for any surface, however this has been used as a trivet for frying pans which can easily be three or four times hotter. All we did before taking the photograph was to rub it over with a few drops of pure Tung oil to take out the scratch marks.
We supply the chopping boards ready to be oiled, with half a litre of pure Tung oil; oiling these yourself is actually a therapeutic exercise!

Delivery charge is £ 7.50 unless ordered and delivered with a worktop, in which case there is no additional charge.
All our end grain chopping blocks are 82 mm thick, 510 mm x 510 mm - 3 1/4 inches thick and 20 inches square. In walnut they weigh around 18 kg each, and 26 kg in the oak. |
